چکیده

IEEE 802.11ad is an enhancement to the IEEE 802.11 family standard, that enables multi-gigabyte wireless communication in 60 GHz. In this paper, we propose a unique pilot design and corresponding channel estimation method for a frequency selective fading 60 GHz channel. It is shown that in our proposed channel estimation the number of pilot subcarrier are fixed in one OFDM symbol, but the pilot tone gets changed every 50 OFDM symbols, the channel experiencing through frequency selective fading. The results of our proposed channel estimation shows that the channel error rate decreases with increasing SNR minimizes the noise of the channel. Keywords— OFDM, 60GHz, Pilot design, Channel estimation, Frequency selective fading.

Millimeter-wave (mmWave) with large spectrum available is considered as the most promising frequency band for future wireless communications. The IEEE 802.11ad and IEEE 802.11ay operating on 60 GHz mmWave are the two most expected wireless local area network (WLAN) technologies for ultra-high-speed communications. For the IEEE 802.11ay standard still under development, there are plenty of propo...

IEEE 802.11ad: Directional 60 GHz Communication for Multi-Gbps Wi-Fi

With the ratification of the IEEE 802.11ad amendment to the 802.11 standard in December 2012, a major step has been taken to bring consumer wireless communication to the millimeter wave (mm-Wave) band. However, multi-Gbps throughput and small interference footprint come at the price of adverse signal propagation characteristics and require a fundamental rethinking of Wi-Fi communication princip...

Achievable Rate Estimation of IEEE 802.11ad Visual Big-Data Uplink Access in Cloud-Enabled Surveillance Applications

This paper addresses the computation procedures for estimating the impact of interference in 60 GHz IEEE 802.11ad uplink access in order to construct visual big-data database from randomly deployed surveillance camera sensing devices. The acquired large-scale massive visual information from surveillance camera devices will be used for organizing big-data database, i.e., this estimation is essen...

Millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar is widely used in vehicles for applications such as adaptive cruise control and collision avoidance. In this paper, we propose an IEEE 802.11ad-based radar for long-range radar (LRR) applications at the 60 GHz unlicensed band. We exploit the preamble of a single-carrier (SC) physical layer (PHY) frame, which consists of Golay complementary sequences with good corr...
